SingTel has won the Platinum Trusted Brand Award for ‘Telecom Company’ in Singapore at the recent Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brand Awards 2007.

It is the fourth consecutive year we have received this prestigious award.

The Platinum Award was given to companies that score more than three times that of their nearest competitor, or with a score of at least double that of their nearest competitor and an average rating of 4 points (out of a possible 5).

SingTel also won the Gold Award for ‘Mobile Service Provider’ for scoring well above its competitors in Singapore.

SingTel has won the Platinum Award every year since 2004.

Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brand Awards were given based on a survey of 7,000 readers in seven Asian markets – Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. They were asked to assign scores for various brands based on qualities such as trustworthiness, credibility of image, quality, value, its ability to innovate and how well each brand understands consumer needs. The winning brands were all based on readers’ top of mind recall as there was no pre-determined list of brands.

“We are pleased that Singaporean consumers have voted and recognised SingTel as a trusted brand again this year,” said Mr Peter Heng, SingTel Director of Corporate Communications.

“The SingTel brand represents innovation and reliability to our customers.  SingTel has a rich history of 128 years.  We are very much part of the daily lives of Singaporeans. Our brand resonates with our customers. We will continue to add value through the products and services we deliver to them as we lead and shape the market.”

Our associates Bharti Airtel, AIS and Globe also won Gold awards for ‘Mobile Service Provider’ in India, Thailand and the Philippines, respectively.

Reader’s Digest Asia Trusted Brands was launched in 1999 and has been carried out annually for the last nine years. The survey aims to identify which brands appeal most to affluent Asian consumers.
