How does the hi!Card work?

Simply slot your hi!Card into your mobile phone as instructed in your mobile phone operational manual. If your hi!Card has zero value, you will need to top up the value of your hi!Card with your Top Up card.

Before a call is connected, you will hear a message telling you the remaining value in your hi!Card. Absolute convenience made affordable just for you!

All incoming and outgoing call charges will be deducted from the stored-value hi!Card. When the value runs low, you can top up your hi!Card by purchasing a Top Up Card, top up via SAM, DBS/POSB ATMS or AXS stations.

You can also top up via the Internet if you have an Internet Banking account with DBS, UOB or Citibank. Visit  www.vpost.com.sg to activate.

How do I make and end a call?

1. Insert hi!Card into your GSM900, GSM1800 or DualBand mobile phone
2.Switch on your handphone
3.Dial the desired number
4.Press SEND or Send
(you will hear an announcement of the balance remaining in your account before the call is connected)
5.When you finish your call, simply press END or

You will hear the balance of your amount everytime you allow your caller to end the call first. If you wish to check the balance at anytime, just follow these simple steps:

1.Dial 9676 7777 using your GSM900, GSM1800 or DualBand mobile phone inserted with the hi!Card.
2.Press 1 to hear the balance.

How do I top up my hi!Card?

You may purchase a stored value Top Up Card of either S$15, S$25 or S$50 at all hello! Stores, authorised dealers, SingPost outlets, 7-Eleven and Cheers Convenience stores to top up your hi!Card.

1.Dial 9 6 7 6 7 7 7 7 using your GSM900, GSM1800 or DualBand handphone inserted with the hi!Card.
2.Press 2 to top up.
3.Wait for the voice prompt and enter your card number, followed by ' # ' key.
4.When prompted, scratch off the golden foil which appears at the reverse side of the Top Up Card and enter PIN, followed by ' # ' key.
5.You will hear an announcement of the new value credited on your handphone.

Alternatively, you can also top up your hi!Card via any of the Self-service Automated Machines (SAM), DBS/POSB ATMS or AXS stations located conveniently around Singapore - You can also top up via the Internet if you have an Internet Banking account with DBS, UOB or Citibank. Visit www.vpost.com.sg to activate.

For Top Up via SAM, just press the [Top Up or Purchase Telecommunication Services ] button, then select [ hi!Card ]. For DBS/POSB ATMs, select [Cash Card/Others] followed by [ Loan/other services ]. Then select SingTel services [to top-up your hi!Card].

For top up via the Internet, simply go to www.vpost.com.sg and select on Pay Bill option followed by hi!Card top-up.The amount will be deducted from your DBS, UOB or Citibank Internet Banking account. First time users need to register with vPost to obtain user ID and password. Choose the desired amount from a choice of $10,$25, $50, $75, $100, $150 or $200 and make your payment through NETS. It is that easy!

How do I store frequently used numbers and short text messages?

Your hi!Card can store up to 70 phone numbers of your choice for quick access.

You can also store up to 3 short text messages. As storing of phone numbers and text message sequences may vary depending on the model of handphone used, please refer to your handphone manual for instructions.

What do I need to do in order to send SMS through my hi!Card?

In order to send SMS through your hi!Card, you will need to set the mobile phone SMS center number by the following steps:

Step 1: Enter Menu Code on your mobile phone
Step 2: Select " Message" or "Mail".
Step 3:Select " Write Messages"
Step 4: Select " Message Setting" ( for some mobile phone models if necessary )
Step 5: Select Option for " Message Service Centre Number" or its equivalent.
Step 6:Please refer to your mobile phone manual on how to enter the international prefix <+>. Enter Message Service Centre Number ( +65 9640 0001 )
Step 7: Confirm selection
Step 8: Select "Exit"/"Quit".

How does IDEAS work with hi!Card?

You can enjoy IDEAS with your hi!Card on a WAP-enabled mobile phone. IDEAS on WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) lets you freely access and interact with the latest information and services from the internet all from your mobile phone.

To access the service, you will need a configured WAP-enabled mobile phone or wireless terminal. Online registration is also necessary at http://www.ideas.singtel.com to access the service. For more information, call 1800-4-Eideas (1800-434 3327).

How does VoiceMail work with hi!Card?

hi!Card users can enjoy VoiceMail service with no registration fees and monthly subscriptions. To enjoy VoiceMail, simply follow the steps below:

To activate VoiceMail
  • Check that you have a minimum balance of $0.10 in your hi!Card. (Note:VoiceMail cannot be activated if balance on your hi!Card is below $0.10)
  • Key *1344 and press Send.
  • You will receive an acknowledgement message via SMS.
  • Successful activation of VoiceMail via *1344 is chargeable at $0.10 and will be deducted from your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card account.
    There are four call Divert/Transfer options, wich you can use to activate your VoiceMail.

Accessing VoiceMail
  • You can only access your VoiceMail box from your hi!Card.
  • To access VoiceMail from your hi!Card, simply key 1344 and press Send.
New Message Notification via SMS only
  • VoiceMail will alert you via SMS when you receive a new message.
  • If the mobile phone is switched off, the VoiceMail will continue to try at variable intervals of up to 24 hours. After which, no more SMS will be sent until caller receive the next message. However, the messages will remain in the VoiceMail for the next 5 days.
Retrieving Messages from VoiceMail
To retrieve voice messages, you simply have to follow these steps:
Step 1: Key 1344  and press Send.  
Step 2: Key 1 to listen
Step 3: While listening, you may key 1 to replay current message or key 3 to go to the end of message
Step 4: After listening, you may key 4 to save & go to the next message or key 5 to delete & go to the next message                                                                   

Termination of VoiceMail
  • Your VoiceMail will be subsequently removed when your hi!Card account expires 6 months from last top-up.
Usage of VoiceMail
Usage charges are based on the prevailing hi!Card airtime charges for:
  • Call forwarding of VoiceMail
    ie. the duration of time taken by the caller to deposit the message in the VoiceMail.
  • Retrieving of VoiceMail messages
    ie. the duration of time taken to retrieve and listen to the messages in the VoiceMail.
  • Receiving of SMS notification locally is FREE.
  • Successful activation of VoiceMail via *1344 is chargeable at $0.10.

Password Security Features

This prevents unauthorised calls from being made and charged to your account. Your hi!Card has been pre-set with a Password code: 1234.

Changing your password
*

You may either refer to the mobile phone manual or follow the instructions below to change your SIM card password.

* The password security feature must first be activated before the password can be changed.

To change the password,

Press * * 0 4 * < old password > * < new password > #

The new password length can be any 4 to 8 digits numbers.

Your Password should be kept confidential.

Using Your Password Security Feature

When the Password security feature is on, you will need to enter the correct Password each time you switch on the phone. After 3 consecutive attempts with the incorrect Password, your mobile service will be disabled. If this happens, please bring your mobile phone and hi!Card to any of our Customer Services Centres.

Further attempts to decipher the Password will invalidate your hi!Card permanently. You will need to purchase a new hi!Card and will not be able to retain your number.

SMS Feature

Send and receive short messages. Receive Free SMS from your friends and loved ones.

Free Call Divert/Transfer

Call Divert/Transfer allows you to re-direct your incoming calls to another telephone, mobile or pager number.

There are four different kinds of Call Divert/Transfer Options:

i) No Reply

This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you are unable to take the call.
To activate this option use this code 6 key1 key


ii) Unreachable

This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when your handphone is switched off or you are out of signal coverage (eg. in a lift).
To activate this option use this code 6 key2 key


iii) Busy

This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you are engaged on your handphone and do not wish to be disturbed.
To activate this option use this code 6 key7 key


iv) All Calls

This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you do not want to take any calls personally.
To activate this option use this code 2 key1 key

To Activate Call Divert/Transfer, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:
Press Code  Destination Number
To Cancel, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:
Press Code
To Check, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:
Press Code

Please wait for confirmation display on your handphone for each activation/deactivation sequence before proceeding to another. For Example: "No Reply All Calls Activated" or "No Reply All Calls Deactivated".

Please refer to your handphone manual to check if [Call Divert] feature is available under the menu option. If [Call Divert] feature is available, simple select the option that you wish to activate and enter [1344] as your destination number.

Depending on your handphone model, your [SEND] key could be either SEND key or
and your "END" key could be either  or  


Notes :

  • Call Divert/Transfer will remain activated until you cancel it.
  • You cannot re-direct incoming calls to a telephone number that is already Call Divert/Transfer activated.
  • You can only re-direct calls to local telephone, mobile or pager numbers.
  • Re-directed calls will be charged at prevailing mobile phone rates.
  • You can still use your mobile phone to make outgoing calls when Call Divert/Transfer is activated.

Useful Notes

You can use the GSM900 hi!Card with any GSM900 or DualBand Phone. The GSM1800 hi!Card can be used with any GSM1800 or DualBand Phone.

  • Your first Top Up for a new (zero value) hi!Card has to be made through 9676 7777 with a Top Up Card. Subsequent Top Ups may be made via SAM machines or DBS/POSB ATMs located conveniently around Singapore. You can also top up via the Internet if you have an Internet Banking account with DBS, UOB or Citibank. Visit www.vpost.com.sg to activate.
  • hi!Card must be topped up every 180 days. Otherwise, your hi!Card will be de-activated and the value in your hi!Card will be forfeited.
  • The Top Up Card has an expiry date printed on the card.
  • GST is absorbed by SingTel Mobile.
  • You can purchase a Top Up Card from selected authorized dealers and top up your hi!Card as and when you want.
  • You will be able to make calls to Service 100.
  • You will not be able to make calls to 104 and numbers beginning with 1900.
  • For International Direct Dialing (IDD) calls, IDD rates and hi!Card local talktime charges apply. You will be charged by first minute block and subsequent 6-second blocks.
  • You will be able to use your hi!Card when you are overseas, as auto roam is supported.
  • You will not be able to make any calls if you select line 2 on your handphone.
  • To send SMS from your hi!Card, you will need to configure your mobile phone to a dedicated SMS centre, + 65 9640 0001, which is only for hi!Card SMS.
