MMS At A Glance
-What is MMS?
 The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a new messaging service that allows messages containing pictures, audio clips, text and in the future, video, to be sent and received between one customer and another. SingTel Mobile customers can send MMS from MMS handsets and My MMS Station.
Note: Prepaid customers can only send MMS from MMS handsets.

-How different is MMS as compared to existing SMS service?
 With MMS, you can combine pictures, audio clips and text in a single message. For example, you can send a personalised birthday greeting with a picture, a song and text. You can even choose to send your MMS to a mobile phone or an email address.

-Who can use MMS?
 All SingTel Mobile (GSM-900 home network) postpaid and prepaid customers can send MMS with their MMS phones. All IDEAS portal members (except Prepaid customers) can send MMS from the IDEAS website.

-What can I do with MMS?
 You can:

-Send MMS to another MMS enabled mobile phone
-Send MMS to another non-MMS enabled mobile phone
-Send MMS to an email address
-Send MMS from My MMS Station at IDEAS website*
-Browse & resize desired image/photo from PC (jpeg/gif format) and send out as MMS*
-Store up to 50 images/photos in Photo Album (max 300kb storage, assuming 6kb per photo)*

* These services are currently available to Postpaid customers only.

-Can I send an MMS to a SingTel Mobile subscriber who is not carrying an MMS-enabled phone?
 Yes, you can. A SMS notification will be sent to the SingTel Mobile receipient informing him/her about the receipt of the MMS and its retrieval.

The MMS can be viewed via "My MMS Inbox" in the Message Station at www.ideas.singtel.com with his/her mobile number and IDEAS password. First time IDEAS customer will receive a SMS notification informing them of their IDEAS ID and password.

-Do I need to retrieve my MMS from My MMS Inbox immediately?
 MMS deposited into My MMS Inbox will be available for 7 days.

-What is the storage space available in My MMS Inbox?
 The maximum storage space is 300kb and the MMS will be deleted based on first in, first out basis once limit is exceeded.

-Can I send MMS to M1/Starhub customers?
 Yes. SingTel Mobile will send your MMS to the respective mobile network operator (M1/Starhub). The speed and receipt of the MMS is dependent on the respective operator's network.

-How much can I expect to pay for the GPRS traffic charges incurred when sending / receiving an MMS?
 With effect from 28th Jan 2003, there will be no further GPRS charges incurred for sending and receiving MMS.

-Why do I need GPRS* to enjoy MMS?
 MMS uses GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) as the primary bearer of the service. In other words, GPRS is the mode of delivery for MMS.

-What is the maximum MMS size that I can send/receive?
 The maximum MMS size supported by SingTel is 300kb.

-Can I sent a 300kb MMS to any overseas network operators?
 No. Sending/receiving this maximum MMS size is subjected to overseas network operators' support.

-Will I be charged if my friend did not receive my Global MMS of 300kb?
 Yes. SingTel ensures the delivery of your Global MMS to the overseas network operator but will not guarantee the recipient receiving it.
