1. How much does it cost to send a Short Message to an M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscriber? SingTel Mobile subscribers will be charged at prevailing short message rates (5.35 cents per message sent) for all messages sent to M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscribers. For messages received from M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscribers, there are no chargers incurred on the SingTel Mobile subscriber.

2. Will I be able to send Short Messages to M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscribers while I am roaming? Yes, but only for countries where Originating Short Messaging is supported by the overseas GSM operator. Please also check that your mobile phone is pre-set with the correct SingTel Mobile Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) number and roaming charges may apply depending on the overseas operator that you are roaming to. 3. Will I be able to send Short Messages to M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscribers who are roaming? Your message will be delivered by SingTel to the M1 / StarHub Short Message Service Centre. M1 / StarHub will further process the short message for delivery to the M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscriber respectively.

4. Is there any limit to the retry period after which an undelivered message will expire? All messages sent to a SingTel Mobile GSM subscriber from an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscriber will be processed with the same retry intervals as currently implemented by SingTel Mobile.

5. Will I be able to access SingTel Mobile's website to send Short Messages to M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscribers? SingTel Mobile's Internet SMS only supports short messaging to SingTel Mobile subscribers. For SingTel Mobile's IDEAS Portal SMS, users are able to send short messages to M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscribers but prevailing short messages rates are applicable.

6. Will I be able to access M1's website to send short messages to SingTel Mobile GSM subscribers? Sorry, the M1 Internet SMS website will only allow users to send short messages to M1 mobile customers who have activated their Internet SMS feature.

7. Will I be able to configure my Short Message Service Centre number to M1's GSM network/Starhub Mobile's network? You will be able to configure your phone to the M1 / StarHub Short Message Service Centre number. However, you will not be able to send any messages successfully.

8. I am a SingTel Mobile GSM subscriber. Can I send Short Messages to M1's CDMA/Paging subscribers? Sorry, the current service only allows phone-to-phone messaging between SingTel Mobile and M1 GSM networks. Short Messages to M1 CDMA/Paging subscribers will not be delivered. Error messages like "Message Failed" will be displayed on your mobile phone if you try to send a message to a M1's CDMA/Paging subscriber.

9. I am a SingTel Mobile GSM subscriber. Can I send Chinese short messages to M1's GSM / StarHub Mobile subscribers? Yes. SingTel Mobile GSM subscribers are now able to send and receive Chinese short messages to customers of other local mobile network operators. For each Chinese SMS sent, customers will be charged at the prevailing tariffs.

10. I am a SingTel Mobile GSM subscriber. Can I send Picture short messages or other special Nokia features e.g. Logos, Icons, RingTones to M1's GSM / StarHub Mobile's subscribers? Yes. SingTel Mobile GSM subscribers will be able to send picture messages to and receive picture messages from M1's GSM/ StarHub Mobile's subscribers. However, downloaded Operator Logos and RingTones onto Nokia phones cannot currently be forwarded to any other GSM subscriber.

No. Only SingTel Mobile subscribers can send short messages to SingTel Paging Message Page/DataRoam subscribers. This service is not supported by other local operators network.

14. I have subscribed to SingTel Mobile's Caller Non-ID service. Why is it that my mobile number still appears on the recipient's phone after I sent him a short message? Caller Non-ID is only applicable to voice and data calls. The caller's mobile phone number will be displayed for SmartMessage service.

15. I am a SingTel Mobile subscriber. How can I send short messages to an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscriber? You will need to sign up for SingTel Mobile's SmartMessage service or services bundled with SmartMessage like MobileOffice, IDEAS or Data Price Plan. Please then check that your mobile phone is pre-set with the correct SingTel Mobile Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) number.

16. I am an existing SingTel Mobile SmartMessage subscriber. How do I send short messages to an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscriber? As long as your mobile phone is pre-set with the correct SingTel Mobile Short Message Service Centre (SMSC) number, you will be able to send messages to an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscriber as you would to a SingTel Mobile subscriber. However, to send messages to an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile ported subscriber, you will have to send the message to his new mobile number.

SingTel Mobile subscribers will be able to send short messages to overseas mobile subscribers of more than 400 overseas operators worldwide. SingTel Mobile will continuously work to extend the service to more operators and destinations.

19. I am a SingTel Mobile hi!Card subscriber. Can I send a short message to / receive a short message from an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile customer? SingTel Mobile hi!Card subscribers are able to send short message to / receive short messages frrm an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile customer. Each short message sent to an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile customer will be charged at the prevailing tariff of 10 cents.

20. Will I be able to receive Short Messages from M1 GSM/StarHub Mobile subscribers whilst I am roaming? You will receive short messages sent from an M1 GSM / StarHub Mobile subscribers while you are roaming, provided the overseas operator's network that you are roaming to supports mobile terminating short messaging. You may however, be charged for the short message received depending on the oveseas operator. 1. How much does it cost to send a Global SMS to an overseas destination? SingTel Mobile subscribers and SingTel Mobile Prepaid subscribers will be charged at 15 cents per message sent to an overseas destination. Messages received from overseas subscribers are free.

2. How do I send Global SMS to overseas subscribers of a overseas mobile operator? Simply follow the steps:
1. Go to to compose message 2. Press 'SEND' 3. Key <+> 4. Press 'OK' Note: Message without the + sign will not be sent successfully.
back to top 3. Will I be able to send Global SMS to overseas subscribers of a overseas mobile operator while I am roaming? Yes, but only for countries where Originating Short Messaging is supported by the overseas GSM operator (please check the list of supported networks). Send the SMS as you normally would (see the question above). A charge of 15 cents per message plus any roaming charges charged by the roaming network will apply.
(Note: An additional 20% surcharge will be imposed for customer using Pay-As-U-Roam service.)

8. I am an existing subscriber of your "SmartMessage" service. How do I send Global SMS to a overseas mobile operator's subscriber? As long as your Short Message Service Centre number is setup correctly, you will be able to send short messages to a overseas mobile operator's subscriber as you would to a SingTel Mobile subscriber. If your phone is already configured properly and you are able to send short messages to local subscribers, you will be able to send Global SMS to a overseas mobile operator's subscriber. However, the overseas mobile operator must be within the list of supported networks .

10. Can I be sure that the Global SMS I have sent will definitely be received by the intended party? In most cases, the message will be received. However, in rare cases, it is possible that a "Message Sent" confirmation is observed on your mobile phone, and the destination number has not received the message. This could be due to a non-compatible setup of the overseas network which results in the message not being successfully sent.
