Value Added Services - VoiceMail

SingTel Mobile’s VoiceMail does more than what a personal answering service would do - answers your calls and takes your personal messages when you’re not available. What’s more, it even notifies you of any messages, wherever you are.




Getting Started

To set up your VoiceMail, simply follow these steps: 

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail
Step 2 Change the Preferred Language
Step 3 Change your Password
Step 4 Record your Personal Name

A [First Time User Introduction] session can be played to help you through changing Passwords, select New Language and record Personal Name.

Features of VoiceMail

Length of Voice Message
Up to 2 minutes each voice message.

Total Number of Messages
Maximum storage capacity of 10 Voice Messages as selected by you when you apply for your VoiceMail.

Storage Time of Messages
Every voice message received will be kept for 14 days, after which they will be automatically erased. Please clear your messages regularly. Once your voice mailbox is full, you will not be able to receive any new messages.

Retrieval of Voice Messages
You can retrieve your messages from any phone by simply dialing 1389 (local) and +65 96301389 (overseas).

Call Return
Now with the new Call Return feature, you can call back the caller at the touch of a button.

Playback Sequence of your Voice Messages
When you retrieve your messages, you have the option to select FIFO/LIFO.

Message Notification via SmartMessage
SingTel Mobile VoiceMail not only notifies you of new messages, it indicates the latest number of new messages in the mailbox. This way you will have the information regarding the status of your mailbox and thus be reminded to clear them before your mailbox is full.


The SMS on your handphone will be as follows:

New msg received on dd/mm/yy hh:mm pm. You have x new msg in your VoiceMail. Please call 1389 or +65 96301389 (overseas).

or

New msg from received on dd/mm/yy hh mm. You have x new msgs in your VoiceMail. Please call 1389 or +65 96301389 (overseas).

Message Notification via Outdial
If you have setup your Out-dial notification, you will be notified immediately on your pager or telephone. If the outdial is not successful, your VoiceMail will try for one more attempt.When a new message is received, you will be notified immediately or on the next time you use your handphone. If your handphone is switched off or out of coverage area, your VoiceMail try to notify you twice. The same applies even when you are roaming overseas.

Activate / Deactivate VoiceMail Forwarding
Activation [switches on] your VoiceMail and allows your callers to leave messages for you when they are unable to get through to your handphone. There are four transfer options which you can use to activate your VoiceMail. They are:

i) No Reply
This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you are unable to take the call.
To activate this option use this code 6 key1 key

ii) Not Reachable
This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when your handphone is switched off or you are out of signal coverage (e.g. in a lift).
To activate this option use this code 6 key2 key

iii) Busy
This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you are engaged on your handphone and do not wish to be interrupted.
To activate this option use this code 6 key7 key

iv) All Calls
This transfers your calls to the VoiceMail when you do not want to take any calls personally.
To activate this option use this code 2 key1 key

Please note that only code 62 work when user is overseas, other than that all voicemail diversion code will not work when user divert to 1389.

To Activate your VoiceMail Forwarding both locally or overseas, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:
Press* key * key Code * key 1 key 3 key 8 key 9 key # key SEND key
To Cancel VoiceMail Forwarding, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:
Press# key # key Code # key SEND key
To Check VoiceMail Forwarding, key in the sequence and wait for confirmation:

Please wait for confirmation display on your handphone for each activation/deactivation sequence before proceeding to another.

We have activated [Call Divert if No Reply] and [Call Divert if Unreachable] for you upon subscription of this service.

Please refer to your handphone manual to see if it offers the [Call Divert] (some handset manuals call it [Call Divert] feature as a menu option. If there is, just enter [1389] as the destination.

Depending on your handphone model, your [SEND] key could be either SEND key or YES key and your [END] key could be either CANCEL key or NO key

Accessing Your VoiceMail

You can access your VoiceMail from any telephone, handphone, pay phone, office or home phone both locally and overseas.

Using your own hand phone

Step 1 Call 1 key 3 key 8 key 9 key and wait for your VoiceMail to answer.
Step 2 Press 1 key Forward Message

Using other phones other than your handphone

Step 1 Call 1 key 3 key 8 key 9 key and wait for your VoiceMail to answer.
Step 2 Enter your 4-digit Password followed by # key.
Enter your handphone number followed by # key.
(Your initial password is set at 9999).

If you are overseas, access your VoiceMail by dialing +65 9630 1389.

Retrieving Your Messages

VoiceMail provides you with friendly step-by-step voice prompts to guide you in retrieving your messages.

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail.
Step 2 Listen to the number of new and played messages in your voice mailbox.

For example, You have 3 new messages. Main Menu.

Step 3 Press 1 key to listen.

If you press 1 key1 key, you will listen to all your new messages continuously till the last message.

Step 4 After each message,
Press 1 key to repeat the message.
Press 4 key to save the message.
Press 5 key to delete the message.

Call Return

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail
Step 2

Listen to the number of new and played messages in your voice mailbox.

For example, You have 3 new messages. Main Menu.

Step 3

Press 1 keyto listen.

Press 0 keyat any time to go to Call Return. Enter # key when prompted to.

Step 4 If message is from a caller non ID number, you will be prompted to key in the number follow by # key.

Record Your Personal Greeting

You can customise your own personal greeting (up to 2 mins) for your callers. You are encouraged to have your own Personal Greeting or Personal Name recorded. This helps to assure the callers that they are calling the right person and thus can confidently leave messages for you.

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail.
Step 2 Press 3 key for Personal Options at the Main Menu.
Step 3 Press 1 key for Subscriber Greeting.

You will hear your current greeting if you have recorded one.

Step 4

Press 2 key for Personal Greeting

You will hear your current Personal Greeting if you have recorded one previously.

Step 5 Simply follow the prompt and select from the following options,
Press 1 key to record a new Personal Greeting.
Press 2 key to save Personal Greeting.
Press 3 key to delete Personal Greeting.

Record Your Personal Name

If you do not wish to have a customised Personal Greeting, you can record your Personal Name. When friends and clients call you, they will hear this greeting:

is unavailable now. Record your message after the tone.

The maximum length of your recorded name is 30 seconds.

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail.
Step 2 Press 3 key for Personal Options at the Main Menu.
Step 3 Press 1 key for Subscriber Greeting.
Step 4

Press 1 key for Personal Name.
You will hear your current Personal Name if you have recorded one previously.

Step 5 To record your Personal Name, you may enter:
Press 1 key to record a new Personal Name.
Press 2 key to save Personal Name.
Press 3 key to delete Personal Name.


Changing Your Password

Your default password is set at 9999. For security reasons, it is advisable that you change your password. You can do so by following the instructions below.

Step 1 Access your VoiceMail
Step 2 Press 3 key to select Personal Options from the Main Menu.
Step 3 Press 4 key to select PIN.
Step 4 Press 4 key to change PIN .
Step 5 Press 1 key to disabled PIN Entry.
Step 6 Enter your new PIN followed by 3 key. You will be requested to confirm your new PIN by entering it again followed by # .

Change Your Outdial Number

Your VoiceMail will notify you whenever you receive a message by sending a SMS to your handphone. Alternatively, you can choose to be notified of new messages through your pager or telephone number.
