| 4. | Why can’t you have a 1711 for local time and another with the enhanced features? |

| 6. | How does the 1711 wake-up/reminder services work? |
| | When a caller rings 1711 and chooses the Reminder/Wakeup call feature, the IVR will ask them to choose either the wake-up call option or reminder call option. Wake up call: the voice prompt or IVR provides prompts on how to set the wake-up time, change, cancel or set another wake-up call. Once it is set, the caller is alerted daily at that time with a phone call that comes with a standard prerecorded message. (“Hello. This is your wake-up call from SingTel. Good bye.”) Reminder call: the IVR provides prompts on how to set or cancel the reminder call or to set another reminder call. Callers who want to set a reminder call get to record a message (to go with the reminder), then enter the date and time for the reminder call. Thereafter, the caller will be notified at that particular date and time, with the recorded message delivered back to him. In both cases, the wake-up calls and reminder calls, will be delivered back to the calling line only. The user will be charged 2.14 cents per wake-up/reminder call delivered to the calling line, except when the line is busy. [ back to top ] |

| 7. | Why are you charging for the service now? |
| | SingTel has been subsidising the costs of providing the service. However, with the opening up of the telecommunications market and the introduction of competition, SingTel cannot afford to continue offering the 1711 service for free. The introduction of the incremental 10.70 cents charge is to enable SingTel to continue to offer the local time announcement. It has also decided to offer additional services and information into the existing 1711 service to add greater value to customers.
