1. Activating Auto Redial
- Lift the handset and wait for the dial tone. Key # 5 6 0 YYYYYYYY # where YYYYYYYY is your Phone number.
- If the line is free, you will hear a ringing tone. Auto Redial is not activated in this case.
- If the line is engaged, you will hear a repeated tone. The call will be placed on Auto Redial. Replace the handset.
- If you hear an NU (Number Unobtainable) or busy tone, it means that the activation is not successful. Replace the handset and repeat steps 1 and 2.
2. Cancelling Auto Redial - Lift the handset and wait for the dial tone.
- Key # 5 6 1 #.
- Wait for the repeated tone, then replace the handset.
Please Note: - It is not necessary to deactivate Auto Redial as it is automatically cancelled when the call comes through, or if the line is still engaged after 10 minutes.
- Auto Redial can only be used for one number at a time.
- Once Auto Redial is successfully activated, the phone exchange will make three attempts randomly within 10 minutes to try and reach the wanted party. If the call goes through, both phones will ring.
- Outgoing and incoming calls can still be made and received after you have programmed the facility.
- Only local phone numbers can be programmed on Auto Redial (i.e. STD/IDD/1800/1900 numbers are not programmable).
- You cannot activate Auto Redial on special service phone numbers (e.g. 1711, 999, 100 etc.).
