All About LIVECam

What is LIVECam?
LIVECam is a live monitoring service which spans across 3G Mobile, Video Phone and PC/Laptop. It allows you to know what is happening at home via video call. You can also assign access rights to your families and friends.

Eligibility

Who is eligible for this service?
Residential customer who has:

  • A dedicated SingNet BroadBand line; and
  • A 3G Mobile Phone, Video Phone or PC/Laptop with PC Client

Who is not eligible?

  • BroadBand with Other ISP eg Pacnet, Qala
  • Jetpack
  • Dial-up
  • Magix
  • ISDN
  • PhoneNet
  • PABX/KTS
  • hunting /routing/auxiliary line
  • Using Overseas ADSL-enabled Line
(note: User should only used the authorized SNBB connection with their LIVECcam service)

Service Requirements

What do I need in order to subscribe to this service?
You need to have the following:

  • A LIVECam Camera
  • A dedicated SingNet BroadBand line (SNBB under Unlimited plan)
  • A 3G Mobile Phone, Video Phone or PC/Laptop with PC Client

What are the lists of routers that have been tested and certified for this LIVECam service?
The following are the list of routers that SingTel has tested and certified to be compatible with our LIVECam service:

  • 2Wire 2700HGV
  • Thomson ST585
  • 2Wire 2700HG
  • 2Wire 1800HW (Note : SingTel no longer carries this model)
  • 2Wire 1800HG (Note : SingTel no longer carries this model)
  • Thomson ST570 (1 Ethernet Port only) (Note : SingTel no longer carries this model)
  • Aztech 600EW (For Business ADSL Service Only)
  • Aztech 600EU (For Business ADSL Service Only)

How many cameras can I attach to each dedicated ADSL line?
You may connect up to a max of 3 cameras per dedicated line.

Usage

Windows Vista™ has no impact on the mode of assessing LIVECam via SingTel Mobile *226. For Video Call on BroadBand customers using Windows Vista™, Click here to download the compatible PC Client Software.

How do I view the camera/s?
For 3G Mobile user – View Locally
Steps :
  1. Key *226 and press “video” to make the video call
  2. Wait for the LIVECam screen to show up
  3. Key in default password “123456”, followed by #
  4. Select ‘1’ or ‘2’ at the keypad to view Cam 1 or Cam 2 (If you have more than 1 camera)

For 3G Mobile user – View From Overseas
Steps :

  1. Initiate a video call to +65 94663226 (+65 9homecam) from your 3G mobile phone.
  2. Wait for the LIVECam screen to show up
  3. Key in default password “123456”, followed by #
  4. Select ‘1’ or ‘2’ at the keypad to view Cam 1 or Cam 2 (If you have more than 1 camera)
Note : IDD Video Call rate applies. Global Dial is not supported

For Video Phone user – View locally & from Overseas
Steps :

  1. Key *226 and press the left-hand button “video” right below the screen
  2. Wait for the LIVECam screen to show up
  3. Key in default password “123456”, followed by #
  4. Select ‘1’ or ‘2’ at the keypad to view Cam 1 or Cam 2 (If you have more than 1 camera)

For PC/Laptop user – View locally & from Overseas
Steps :

  1. Key *226 and press button “video” to call
  2. Wait for the LIVECam screen to show up
  3. Key in default password “123456”, followed by #
  4. Select ‘1’ or ‘2’ at the keypad to view Cam 1 or Cam 2 (If you have more than 1 camera)

Who can I invite to view my camera(s)?
You can invite those who are SingTel 3G Mobile, SingTel Video Call and SingTel Video Call on BroadBand subscribers to view the camera(s). You must add their numbers to the Access List and your PIN No must be given to them in order for them to view the Camera(s).

How many numbers can I add to my Access List?
There are a total of 10 numbers slots including your own main access in the Access List. Thus, you may add a max of 9 numbers to your Access List.

Is there a time lapse in viewing the camera?
No, it’s real-time viewing.

What is the uplink speed for the camera?
The uplink speed for each camera is at 64kbps.

Are the images stored?
No, the images are stream “live” therefore it will not be captured or stored.

How long can I view the camera per session?
There is no limit to how long you wish to view the camera.

How many “live” cameras can I view at any time?
You may view 1 camera at any one time.

How many people can access to the same camera at any one time?
Up to a max of 5 persons can access to the same camera at any one time.

Will I be able to view if the room is dark?
No, you will not be able to view if the room/remote location is dark.

Do I need to keep my cameras, router and Internet connection up at all time?
Your router and Internet connection must be up when you want to view the cameras from your 3G mobile, Video Phone or PC Client.

When not in use, they can be powered off. When the power is up again, the cameras and router do not need to be re-configured. However, it may take up to 20 minutes for our server to re-establish connection to the cameras.

How do I make changes to the Access List?

Via IVR
You may call IVR at 68384090 and follow the prompt to make changes to the Access List.
Type of changes that you can make to the Access List using IVR system:
  • Add access
  • Delete access
  • Listen to Access
You may also change your PIN thru IVR.

Via IDEAS Website (applicable to 3G Mobile Users)
Login to IDEAS Website www.ideas.singtel.com with your IDEAS login name & password

What is my LIVECam PIN?
Default PIN is 123456

I can’t remember my LIVECam PIN. What should I do?
You may call our Customer Service Hotlines at 1626 (Mobile) / 1609 (Residential) to request to reset the PIN to default.

How can I be assured of my privacy?
The cameras are configured to only allow our server to connect to it. Access to view is controlled by our server to ensure authorised users. You are advised not to change any of the camera configuration settings and give away your PIN at your discretion.

Can I bill the LIVECam Subscription under Fixed Line even though my main access is via 3G Mobile?
You must bill the subscription charges under the main access mode.

How much do I have to pay each time I access my LIVECam?
Video call to LIVECam - *Cam (*226) will be charged at prevailing video call rates beyond bundled airtime as per price plan for 3G Mobile &/or Video Call on BroadBand.

Will I be billed when the invited party access to view my LIVECam?
No, the access charges will be billed to the invited person who access to view your LIVECam.

Application

Where can I go in order to subscribe to the Service?
You may go to any of our hello! stores or Selected SingTel Exclusive Retailers for the application.

What are the documents required for verification?
The NRIC & authorisation letter if the applicant is not the owner of the SingNet BroadBand Plan.

Are there any charges that I must pay at the point of sign up?
At the point of application, you need to pay for price of the camera(s) and the Basic Configuration Charges if you have opted for the upfront payment mode. The camera(s) will be delivered by the Third Party Installer on the day of installation.

Can Business Customers apply for this Service?
This service is available to Business (SME) customers.

Activation

How long does it take to activate the Service and configure the camera(s)?
It will take 3 working days for existing SingNet BroadBand customer. For new SingNet Broadband sign up, LIVECam will be activated approximately 4 ~9 working days together with the SingNet BroadBand.

I wish to defer the installation date, can the activation date be deferred?
You may change the installation date but there will not be any changes to the activation date.

Cancellation of Application

Can I cancel the application before Service activation date?
Yes, you may cancel the application but there is no refund once the camera(s) is/are purchased and the camera will still be delivered to customer on the scheduled appointment date.

Terms & Conditions

Is there any minimum subscription period?
Yes, 3-months contractual period applies for the LIVECam Service.
If customer opts for the Monthly Charge via SingTel Bill for the Camera & Basic Configuration Service, 24-months contractual period applies.

Modems

My modem is not one of the approved modems for LIVECam, can I do a trade-in of my existing modem?
There’s no trade in option. Subscriber may purchase the modem at prevailing retail price.

Is there any warranty for the Camera?
There’s a 1 year warranty from date of purchase by the manufacturer.

Can I use my own camera?
No. The cameras are bundled in the service package and your camera may not support the function for this service.

Camera Installation Related

Can I have the cameras subscribed under one subscription installed at different sites?
No. All cameras under one subscription must be installed on the same site in the same local network.

Can the camera be installed at an address different from the SNBB HWS installation address?
No, the installation address must be the same as SNBB (HWS) installation address.

Can I purchase and install the camera by myself and subscribe to the LIVECam service?
No. In-order to provide better service and user experience on the LIVECam service, Third Party Installer will go down to your house premise and undertake configuration and installation (if required) of the camera.

Subscriber can shift the camera to other locations so long as there is ADSL?
No. The Service must be used only in the Service Environment registered with SingTel / SingTel Mobile.

Installation

What does the Third Party Installer need to do with the modem and router?
Third Party Installer will configure the router and the camera.

Is there any warranty for the Installation?
Third Party Installer shall restore the Service within 7 working days from the time of the successful new installation if the fault is due to the following:

  • Manufacturing defect of the camera,
  • Non-customer configuration problem,
  • Non-peripheral related problem
After the 7 days warranty period, $69.55 (incl GST) will be imposed for each visit.

Termination

Where can I do the termination for the LIVECam Service?
For Fixed Line subscriber, please call 1609 (Res) / 1606 (Biz-SME) for termination.
For SingTel Mobile subscriber, please call 1626 for termination.

How long does it take to terminate the Service?
It will take 3 working days to terminate the Service.

Will there be any pro-ration of the bill?
No, there’s no pro-ration of the subscription fee upon termination. Thus, termination must be done before the start of the month, otherwise, subscriber will be charged for the next month.

I had requested to terminate my SingTel Mobile service. Must I terminate my LIVECam service registered under Mobile immediately or can there be any grace period?
LIVECam Service would be terminated together with your SingTel Mobile service.

I had requested to terminate my Video Call on BroadBand service. Must I terminate my LIVECam service registered under Fixed Line immediately or can there be any grace period?
You must submit the request separately when calling 1609 (Res). Termination of Video Call on BroadBand account does not constitute auto termination of LIVECam Service.

I had requested to terminate my SingNet BroadBand access. Must I terminate my LIVECam service immediately or can there be any grace period?
You must submit the request separately by calling the respective Hotlines. Termination of SingNet BroadBand account does not constitute auto termination of LIVECam Service.
