Singapore, 11 February 2002 - SingTel has teamed up with Loxinfo IDC, a leading player in Thailand’s Internet and data center business to provide managed hosting services (MHS). These services enable corporate users, Internet service and content providers in Thailand and elsewhere to outsource their entire IT networks and house their mission critical equipment in data centers set up by Loxinfo IDC in Thailand or SingTel’s data centers in other key cities in the Asia Pacific.
The marketing alliance concluded between Loxinfo IDC and SingTel recently is among the first of such partnerships that SingTel is establishing to extend the provision of its managed hosting services to multi locations in Asia. The agreement enables SingTel and Loxinfo to resell each other’s services and provides both SingTel and Loxinfo customers a single point of contact for IT and network services on a regional basis.
“SingTel operates the most comprehensive network of data centers in Asia Pacific under the company’s EXPAN brand. In addition to our data centers in Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Australia, SingTel will provide MHS services via marketing alliances with other leading data center players in Asia. This approach enables us to extend our service offerings to multi locations using the expertise of our local partners instead of setting up our own facilities,” said Ms Mary Ong, SingTel’s CEO of Managed Hosting Services. Besides Thailand, SingTel will offer MHS services in Malaysia, Philippines and India through marketing alliances with partners. In Thailand, we are pleased to have Loxinfo IDC as our partner. They are the leader in the Thai data center market and renowned for providing quality services.
Mr Vivatvong Vichit-vadakan, CEO of Point Asia Dot Com (Thailand) Ltd said, “With our strong cooperation, customers would be able to tap a full suite of applications, technologies, and expertise throughout the region.”
SingTel’s network of data centers in Asia Pacific are connected to the SingTel Internet Exchange, Asia’s biggest Internet backbone, with connectivity to other Internet exchanges in the US, Europe and Asia.Customers who use SingTel’s data center also enjoy ConnectPlus International Leased Circuits, Frame Relay, ATM and IP-VPN services, which are supported by SingTel’s extensive and robust pan-Asian cable and satellite infrastructure.
