SingTel wins top awards from Asian MobileNews and Frost & Sullivan
Singapore, 15 June 2005 -- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) won the most number of awards at the 2nd Asian MobileNews Awards 2005, walking away with the Asian Mobile Operator of the Year Award for the second consecutive year and the Mobile Operator of the Year, Singapore Award.
Mr Lim Chuan Poh, CEO of SingTel Mobile, is also named the Mobile Operator CEO of the Year.
"We are delighted with the awards. We wish to thank our customers, business associates and technology partners for their support in voting for SingTel,” said Mr Lim, who is also SingTel’s Executive Vice President of Consumer Business.

Readers of Asian MobileNews voted for the winners in the various award categories. Besides winning the most number of awards among all the nominees, SingTel also received the most votes at individual country level for the Asian Mobile Operator of the Year Award.
Frost & Sullivan
SingTel is crowned the Service Provider of the Year in the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Technology Awards 2005 for the second consecutive year.
This most coveted award is given to SingTel for outranking all other contenders and demonstrating clear leadership in the following key measurements areas: (i) consistent and sustainable growth in revenue; (ii) dominated market share in a specific category and market share growth; and (iii) overall leadership in new product introduction and innovation.
SingTel’s Australian unit, Optus is also recognised for its strong performance during the year, receiving the Competitive Service Provider of the Year Award for the second year running.

This is the second year that Frost & Sullivan is organising the annual awards to recognise outstanding performance by companies and individuals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in Asia Pacific.
