1. Who is eligible to enjoy this service?
All hi!Card and hello!Mobile Card customers with a minimum account balance of $0.10 and non-expired accounts are eligible to apply for Voicemail service. As for checking of account balance, activating/deactivating balance announcement, downloading of roaming information or changing language option, hi!Card / hello!Mobile Card customers with non-expired accounts are eligible.

2. How do I apply for Voicemail service?

Simply key  to apply for Voicemail service. An interactive SMS menu will be sent to you. Reply with  to apply for Voicemail service.  You will then receive an acknowledgement SMS informing you that your application will be processed within one working day.

The acknowledgement message received will be “Thank you for your request.  Your application will be processed within one working day”.

If your application is successful, you will also receive another SMS, for example: “Your voicemail has been activated.  To retrieve your voice messages, dial 1344 & press 1 to listen”.

However, if you already have Voicemail service, you will receive the following SMS: “You already have existing voicemail service.  To retrieve your voice messages, dial 1344 & press 1 to listen”.

Successful activation of voicemail service via  is chargeable at $0.10 and will be deducted from your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card account.  Please note that you must have a minimum account balance of $0.10 before you are eligible to apply for Voicemail service. 

However, if you already have Voicemail service but dial *1344 to activate Voicemail service again, $0.10 will not be deducted.

3. How do I retrieve my voicemail messages?

6. How long are my messages kept in the mailbox?
Each voice message received will be saved for 5 days from day of deposit after which they will be deleted automatically. Each saved message will be kept for 5 days from the day it is first saved and will be automatically deleted after that.

7. Can I change the default language for deposit and retrievals of my Voicemail service?
Yes, customer can choose to have either English or Mandarin message prompts. The language chosen by customer as default will be applicable to both deposit and retrievals.

8. How do I change the language option of my Voicemail service?

9. What is the personal options for?
This is an added new feature whereby a hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card customer is allowed to configure his message alert, change his personal greeting, or record name.

10. How do I set my message alert?

Press  to access personal option.
Press
 to set your message alert. The system will then prompt you to enter your preferred notification number if you are a first time user. Otherwise, they system will play your current notification number before asking if you wishes to change or delete.
After keying your preferred notification number, you will be asked to confirm or to cancel. After confirmation, the system will then prompt you to confirm if the number entered is a pager number or a telephone number.
Once you have keyed in your option (pager number or telephone number), the new settings of your notification number will take place.

11. What will my pager display if I had set my message alert to my pager number?
When there’s a new message deposited, your message alert via your pager number will display <caller number> if CLI is available. If CLI is unavailable, your pager will display <- ->.

12. What will I listen if I had set my message alert to another telephone number?
When there’s a new message deposited, the telephone number set in your message alert will ring and the CLI displayed on the phone is <1344>. When you answers the call, you will hear <There is new message for [mailbox number]. Please call 1344. >. This message will be repeated twice and the call will be terminated automatically.

Yes, you can set your message alert number to your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card number as well.

14. How do I personalize my greetings?
Press  
Press  to access personal option.
Press to personalize your greeting message or recorded name.
Press
 to personalize your greeting message. The system will then prompt you to record your greeting if you are a first time user. Otherwise, they system will play your current greeting message before asking if you wishes to re-record, save or delete.
Press
 to re-record. At the system prompt, you can record your greeting message and press  once you are done. The greeting must be at least 1 second long and less than 30 seconds.
Once it has been recorded, the system will then play back the greeting recorded and prompt you to re-record, save or delete.
Once the greeting has been saved, the new settings will take place.

15. How do I record my name?

Press to personalize your greeting message or recorded name.
Press  to record your name. The system will then prompt you to record your name if you are a first time user. Otherwise, they system will play your current recorded name before asking if you wishes to re-record, save or delete.
Press  to re-record. At the system prompt, you can record your name and press  once you are done. The greeting must be at least 1 second long and less than 10 seconds.
Once it has been recorded, the system will then play back the name recorded and prompt you to re-record, save or delete.
Once the name has been saved, the new settings will take place.

16. If I had recorded both greeting message and name, what will my callers get to listen?
The personal greeting will be played automatically. In the event that the greeting message has been deleted, the recorded name will then be played.

17. If I had set the message alert to another number, will I still receive the SMS notification on my hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card?
Yes, you will still receive the SMS notification on your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card.

18. Am I able to turn off the SMS notification if I had already set my message alert to another number?
No, as the SMS notification is automatically sent to your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card whenever a voice message has been deposited in your mailbox.

19. What is a message header?
A message header contains information such as caller’s number (if CLI is available), date and time the caller has deposited a voice message in your voicemail.

20. Can I choose not to hear the message header each time I retrieve my voicemail?
Yes, this is one of the enhanced features that allow you to retrieve the message instead of listening to the message header. While retrieving the deposited message, you will be given an option to listen to the message header.

21 Am I able to initiate a call back while retrieving my voicemails?
Yes, you can now make a call back to the caller when retrieving your voicemails.

22. How do I initiate a call back while listening to my voicemails?
After listening to the deposited voice message, you are given the option to return a call, save, delete, or listen to message header. Press  to initiate a call back. If the caller’s CLI is available, you can press  to call. To call another number, you can just enter the number and press . If the caller’s CLI is not available, you can enter the number and press . You can press  during the call or at the end of the call to go back to voicemail to continue to retrieve your messages.

23. How am I charged for Voicemail service?
It will be charged based on the prevailing hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card airtime charges at $0.22 for 1st minute and $0.022 subsequent 6 seconds block for both depositing and retrieving messages.

24. Do I need any pin number to access to my voicemail messages?
No, you will just have to call 1344 from your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card.

25. Is my voicemail secure since there is no password verification?
As customers can only access voicemail through hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card, and not through SingTel Mobile post paid, M1, Starhub, fixed residential or corporate telephone lines, hence there is a reasonable level of security of the voicemail messages.

26. Can I have a personalized greeting message?
Yes, you can record your own personalized greeting message.

27. How will I know there are voice messages in my mailbox?
A notification will be sent via SMS at no charge to customer’s hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card. Alternatively, you can set your message alert to another number to notify you when there are new voice messages deposited in your mailbox.

28. I’m a postpaid Voicemail service customer. Can I apply for hi!Card Voicemail service since it does not require a monthly recurring charge.
Unfortunately, this valued added service is only extended to prepaid mobile card customers. Please be informed that there is limited functionality as compared to a postpaid voicemail.

29. I’m a hi!Card/ hello!Mobile card subscriber but I want the postpaid voicemail since it has more functions.
The postpaid voicemail is only available for postpaid customers. hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card customers can apply for a hi!Card Voicemail service through *1344. Successful application is charged at $0.10. Please note that you must have a minimum account balance of $0.10 before you are eligible to apply for Voicemail service.

30. How do I deactivate my Voicemail service?
Your Voicemail service will be automatically deactivated once your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card account has expired.

31. How can I check my account balance?
Simply key to check your account balance. An interactive SMS will be sent to you. Reply with to access your prepaid card balance. Another interactive SMS will be sent to you. Reply with a for an updated status of your account balance. You will then receive an acknowledgement SMS informing you that your request is currently being processed.

The acknowledgement message received will be "Please be informed that your request is being processed. Thanks you."

You will also receive another SMS containing information you have requested, for example: "Your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card balance is $5.92. Your hi!Card/ hello!Mobile Card will expire on 30 June 2003."

32. I wish to activate my balance announcement. how do I go about activating it?
Simply key to activate your balance announcement. An interactive SMS will be sent to you. Reply with to access your prepaid card balance. Another interactive SMS menu will sent to you. Reply with to activate your balance announcement. You will then receive an acknowledgement SMS informing you that your balance is currently being processed.

The acknowledgement message received will be "Thank you. Your request is currently being processed. We will inform you via SMS once your balance announcement service is activated/deactivated."

You will receive another SMS if the activation is successful, for example, "Your balance announcement service has been activated."

33. I wish to deactivate my balance announcement. How do I go about deactivating it?

Reply with to deactivate your balance announcement. You will then receive an acknowledgement SMS informing you that your balance is currently being processed.

The acknowledgement message received will be "Thank you. Your request is currently being processed. We will inform you via SMS once your balance announcement service is activated/deactivated."

You will receive another SMS if the activation is successful, for example, "Your balance announcement service has been deactivated."

34. Am I charged for the SMS messages that I have sent/received when using this service?
No, you will not be charged for every SMS received or sent in relation to using this service. However, please note that your request for Voicemail service via *1344 is chargeable at $0.10.
