1. What is this Wireless@SG service announced by IDA and SingTel?
Wireless@SG is an initiative led by IDA to make wireless broadband more readily available to the consumers. Under this scheme, customers enjoy 3 years free 512kbps wireless access in public areas.
SingTel won the bid for the North Zone and will be the only operator to offer you personalized and location based services which provide you the benefit of receiving the relevant information when you need it. The North Zone covers Orchard Road.

2. How can I enjoy the Wireless@SG service now?
All customers will be required to sign up for the service in order to enjoy Wireless@SG service. Click here to find out more about the sign up process.

3. Can I sign up with SingTel even though I am not staying in the North Zone?
Yes, you can. We recommend you to sign up with SingTel, even though you are living in the East or West Zones.
IDA is facilitating roaming arrangements amongst the operators. So, it does not matter which operator you sign up with. You'll enjoy the added convenience of using use your existing SingNet password or SingTel Mobile IDEAS to access this service.

4. Why should I sign up with SingTel?
For a start, we have the most extensive coverage - we have 800 hotspots island wide, including Orchard Road, more to come.
At the same time, we offer services such as My HomePage,
WhizGuide, eConcierge, *MAPS and mio Mobile to complement
your daily lifestyles.

5. Where are the 800 popular hotspots that I can access the Wireless@SG service?
The hotspots include cafes like Starbucks, Delifrance, Spinelli, DOME, Gelare café; restaurants like Burger King, Ichiban Boshi and Fiesta; public libraries, country clubs, community centers, shopping malls like Ngee Ann City, Paragon and Raffles City.

6. How much do I pay for the Wireless@SG service?
With SingTel, the basic Wireless@SG service is FREE for 3 years till 31 December 2009.
You can also sign up for the enhanced service (known as Wireless Plus 3000) at a monthly fee of $10.59. The enhanced service offers you a superior download speed of 3Mbps, thus giving you a higher bandwidth for video services.

7. Will I be charged for Wireless@SG service after the 3 years' period?
This will be decided at a later date. We will inform you ahead of time on the rate changes before the 3 years' promotion period ends.

8. Where can I find out more information about the service?
You can call 1610 (for SingNet customers), 1626 (for SingTel Mobile customers) and 1606 (for Business customers).

9. What do I need to access Wireless@SG service?
You need a wi-fi (802.11b or 802.11g) enabled device to access the Wireless@SG service. The device can be wireless-enabled laptop using Intel Centrino, PCMCIA Wireless card, Wireless USB adaptor, Wi-Fi enabled phones, etc.

10. Do I need to install any software to access Wireless@SG service?
You do not need to install any software to access the Wireless@SG service. All you need to do is click on the browser and you will be prompted to key in your userid and password to login to the Wireless@SG service.

11. What are the applications that are available with the Wireless@SG service?
With Wireless@SG service, user can enjoy unlimited wireless
Internet surfing.
SingTel subscribers can enjoy services such as My HomePage,
WhizGuide, eConcierge, *MAPS. At the same time, you can
make free unlimited local calls at our hotspots with mio
Mobile at just $10.70 a month.

12. I am an existing SingNet Outdoor Wireless Surf unlimited plan subscriber. What is the difference between the existing service and the new Wireless@SG service?
Existing SingNet Outdoor Wireless Surf unlimited plan will be renamed Wireless Plus 3000. The monthly subscription fee for Wireless Plus 3000 is $10.59, which will offer you a superior download speed of 3Mbps, thus giving you a higher bandwidth for video services.
